July FFFA + HAH Event

Jennah Majid - Volunteer holding up the menu sign!

So, it was hectic to say the least. we were preparing over 200+ meals and had to run the prep items all the way from Kennett to Wilmington. The set up team was behind and my partner group was feeling the pressure with other obligations while also being needed to help execute the event. Needless to say I (Jamilah) was stressed and felt everything was falling apart.

Going into the second half of the day, Chef Andrew came through with the chefs knowledge and helping hand. I felt awful that it was his first time helping us with our event and we weren’t all the way together like I had hoped. Safe to say I wanted to impress with my leadership skills but frankly, I was all over the place. He executed! Did an amazing job and helped the young organizer/volunteer of humbly assisting humanity (Abdul) get into the zone a stunt his skills. That grill station was flawless.

Also, Big shout outs to Thee Hilary Meyer for the amazing photos! she is the illeets when it comes to making everything seem on point. I’ll be attaching her work with this post and hopefully all future posts LOL (one can hope!)

To the amazing volunteers and contributors - THANK YOU.

Captian Fahim and Abdul of Humbly Assisting Humanity
